There’s a whole story in this photo, but I’ll just give you the sum-up. My buds and I had a sample of these edibles to try, so we decided to get together at our local lake and experience them as a unit. Incidentally, my local lake is called “City Park Lake,” which I can’t tell you how many times I’ve complained about the absolute generic-ness of that name!
Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. At the lake with m’buds. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon just chitty-chattin’ and vibin’ and enjoyin’ the summer weather, now that we’ve moved out of the Hell’s Front Porch phase of Missouri weather. I was quite pleased to be chosen to share the joy!
These, being edibles, take a while to kick in. So while we waited and chatted, we also did some puff-puff-passin’ and man-o-man, it was lovely!
As for the review:
Vibe:
“Wind Blow” – Bone-Thugz-n-Harmony + Fleetwood Mac
“Astronaut in the Ocean” – Masked Wolf
“WIN” – Jay Rock
“Million Dollar Baby” – Tommy Richman
“Dancin'” – Aaron Smith (KRONO Remix) & of equal importance, which comes from this
Buds:
2, no pets
One of those buds is someone I met at the Kansas City Higher Ladies Club, which is part of the Cannabis Network of Kansas City not terribly long ago. Her name is Lady and I’m pretty sure she likes moonlight and long walks on the beach but I haven’t specifically asked her, so feel free to do so yourself. She had the absolutely brilliant idea of doing cannabis tours for the Kansas City area, and is in the throes of getting the logistics sorted for such an experience.
Eatin’:
Bubby’s Bakes – Choco Chip Bites – 250mg for the whole container, 5 inside.

We each toasted to our friendship and sampled a “cookie”. I felt like it had a cookie-cake texture. I mean, really balancing itself on the knife’s edge between both.

As far as flavor, there was something different that I wasn’t expecting, but that’s not a bad thing. I’m trying to recall the exact phrasing we used, but it was noticeably “different” to all three of us. I definitely didn’t get any sort of chocolate taste, or a chocolate chippy sort of texture within the cookie. It tasted like any other packaged-for-shelf-life-not-for-flavor baked good you’d find in a convenience store, honestly.

The QR code on the label seems to be blank, and I suspect that’s because it’s a SAMPLE as shown on the label. I’m not familiar with the legal requirements of samples, but I do know they can’t be given away (at the dispensaries we paid $.01 for each sample we were given) and I do know that manufacturers have samples of each batch of product made. No clue how the distribution happens, as in if they are ordered by dispensaries or distrubuted to them by manufacturers. I do know they are shipped just like any other thingy in the regulated cannabis world, which means they are tracked from seed to sale and with the proper access, we would be able to see exactly where the cannabis plant that produced the THC in those cookie bites was grown.
That being said, they were good-not-great. It was no trip to flavortown, but I would definitely eat them again, unlike the Vibe gummies.
Being 50mg, the high packed a good little wallop for the bite-size. I mean, I was very chill and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and definitely felt a bit of a creative buzz through the evening. My projects are humming along, slowly, slowly, slowly, but how can I complain about that? The answer: I cannot.
This lil’post turned out to be quite a wild ride of links. 😂
